I love music, having wide and varied tastes.
Some people would regard a lot of the stuff I'm into as obscure. I've included a small (and definitely not comprehensive) list of links below, so you'll be able to make some sort of judgement for yourself!
I also make music from time to time:
In the mid-to-late 80s I did a lot of work with a friend called David Jenkins. This was mainly guitar-based songs, but we did a lot of experimenting with cheap keyboards and various gizmos/tape effects etc. I've recently been unearthing the stuff we did and burning it onto CD in case the master tapes go west, and we've been looking through our old tapes to see what we have in terms of better/alternative versions. This has been a lot of fun and it's rekindling my interest in writing "proper" songs, as opposed to the electronic/dance-based stuff I've been doing lately.
Up to a few years ago, I mostly used my Atari computer and a couple of keyboards. More recently I've shifted to using my PC, as everything is pretty much in one box and I can record the output to the hard disc, and thence to CD or MP3, at last being able to get the sound quality I've been after for a long time.
I play guitar very simplistically (acoustic, electric, bass) - many (including me...) would say extremely badly!
I also own and play several hand drums. The main one (my first and favourite) is a UK-made boogaraboo (bass djembe), made by Leigh Tolson in Bath.
I also have a small collection of weird instruments I similarly can't really play properly or at all, though I derive great pleasure from them. Not sure if my neighbours do, though! These include an Indian banjo (nothing remotely like a "normal" banjo: more like a cross between a hurdy-gurdy and a sitar...), a calimba (thumb piano) and a didjeridoo.

This list is not necessarily representative of what I'm currently listening to or a balanced view of my tastes: it's edited on the combined basis of what I find on the web and pure whim!
